Pat O’Bryan revisited the Tao te Ching after reading dozens of difficult-to-read interpretations. He calls his version the Tao “that would be comfortable in blue jeans and a t-shirt”.
Pat wanted a high quality book suitable for a coffee table as well as affordable versions for wider distribution but, of course, wanted to keep production costs low. All images in the book were sourced from public domain images and matched thematically with each verse. The cover image was licensed at no cost from photographer Bert Myers. Multiple versions were created including a hardcover edition, large-format full-color paperback, a low-cost pocket version without images, a Kindle version and, finally, a version for iBooks.
Few books merit their own portfolio page but I'm definitely proud of this work.
