A hacked non-profit site recovered before the host banned the account: database restored, WordPress reinstalled and hardened.
The story
A non-profit in far west Texas had their website hacked and reached out for help.
Rapid action minimized further problems and prevented their web host from banning their hosting account. After locating an older archive of their database I was able to locate and remove the offending files, recover the database, conduct a new installation of WordPress, restore lost content, install an up-to-date theme, modify their site admin account, update all login credentials and harden their installation through a number of methods. They were back online in less than 24 hours.
